Your comment about the places docs go to learn about blood pressure may be the funniest thing that's happened so far in your back stories. It opens up the whole scandalous world of industry paid junkets to fancy places. Meanwhile, it never hurts to put in just a whiff of exotic sex appeal. - Ted

Ms. Cindy,

You know I think the story has two heroes. One is Indie. He is old, getting bald (just a little patch on the back of his head) and flawed. He smokes and drinks and takes a few pills but always tells the truth. He did get tangled up with a woman one time many years ago, but Ms. Jenkins forgave him and he is loyal to her ever since.

The other is a decade younger than Indie. Well, I don't guess he is a hero, and he ain't very dashing either, but he is sincere and earnest. He is like a medical Colombo. He keeps bumbling into the truth, not because he is that smart but only because he won't accept a lie. He wouldn't take to being called a hero, though, so I leave him unnamed for now.

The Mandolin Case was a once in a lifetime event. At least all the people involved in it told me it was. They say they have never seen a case like it before or since.

Wow! Not only the wicked witch of the South but a mysterious foreign woman too!
Dr. B., you have everything. Now you need the dashing hero! I can't wait to read the book.
